Sugarcane juice is made by crushing raw sugarcane. After crushing, the crushed sugarcane is then mixed with water. In this process, the sugarcane juice is released. The sugarcane juice is usually filtered, cooled and stored for consumption.Benefits of sugarcane juice Sugarcane juice is usually high in energy. Sugarcane is one of the world’s oldest food sources. As an ingredient in food, it has been used for thousands of years. Sugarcane is not only a useful and valuable ingredient, it also has many properties, including being beneficial to the body and even to the brain.Sugarcane is also used in producing refined sugars. Sugarcane is a large grass-like plant that belongs to the sugarcane family. As well as being a grass-like plant, sugarcane is also a perennial. It has a strong, straight stem that is about 60 to 150 cm (24 to 59 in) tall. The sugarcane is usually harvested between 1-5 years old, when it’s in its last growing season. The stalk is harvested from the ground when it reaches a specific height. Once harvested, it is processed into the juice and then pressed to remove the
I'm a big fan of sugarcane juice - at least when its chilled. The pulp left after the juice is extracted from sugarcane leaves (the juice) can be frozen for later use, for example for a milkshake. When the pulp is frozen and then defrosted it loses a lot of its flavor and can seem rather bland. If the juice is filtered then the residue that comes with the juice is also bland, but it can be used to flavor ice cream. If the juice is filtered then a lot of the sugars stay in the juice, and you have a purer juice with a much higher sugar content. That's my reasoning behind buying and storing sugarcane juice in the fridge, and it certainly works. It would also work to store juice in the fridge after the pulpy residue has been frozen. However, a problem arises - how do you store the filtered juice in a bottle, if the pulp isn't allowed to stay in the bottle.
